Abstract:

The species of Aframomum related to A. polyanthum are revised. A. polyanthum, previously known only from north of the Equator, is recorded from Zambia. A. zambesiacum has an extensive but discontinuous range from Malawi to Cameroun, with a new subspecies [A. zambesiacum puberulum ] in Ethiopia. A. keniense and A. chlamydanthum become synonyms of A. zambesiacum.
