Abstract:

This test provides detailed coverage of the Zingiberaceae family of tropical East African vascular plants. Costus, Siphonochilus, Renealmia, and Aframomum are the four genera in the family which are covered. Information concerning the distribution, habitat, identifying features, and synonyms of the species covered is provided. Species not completely known are discussed and detailed line drawings, as well as an index to the Zingiberaceae family, supplement the text.
